Their are lot of french Confused but after talking with their i realized how my 3 month are becoming realy difficult (party, drugs, rock, alcool, trans, metal, drugs, drugs... and working at 08:30 a.m. Pendu )
If you know how london is the Drugs place!!
I have alredy 2 way for buy what i want: marijuana , Taz , cock... and... LSD!!! beuh affraid just amazing !! I don't want test specialy Taz and cock but in TRANS party that could be a great experiment passs

__________________________________________________________

DAY 10
__________________________________________________________

already ten days... amazing...
I tolk with Janny from finnland and this guy is a chief cooking at the top of his bulding :

he say that it's a uncredible view of london at the top

__________________________________________________________

DAY 11
__________________________________________________________

what a fucking job... at the begin i was very exciting but now i must fill up fucking excel document... not always funny, imagine for a futur computer science enginer do 120 times the same things... i had learn to be lazy (but effective) for 2 years... i not do for this fucking work...
it's just my bad periode.
finnaly i have a good payroll at the end of the month so it's could be more difficult... that's just frustrating to feel that you don't use your real skills... ok i have finnish to cry on myself Smile

the last night manon, not our artist, but one of my flatemate, and a friend of her, decide to make a cooking competition!! fh so i was in the jury ^^ always when you can eat for free Smile

the two was just excellent but manon'food was more sofisticated :
-rice cooking with coco milk
-sweet pepper
-tuna with ognion
- and so the most surprising banana and pineapple!!

and the guy was more stronger:
-omelette
-potatose with ognion and other things...

So finnaly i decide to vote for manon because her plat is full off color and different tast.

maybe one day i'll cooking my special carbonara fh

Next saturday i'm probably go on the "JACKS" a trans club of london, my friend intership is ok also!!

Re: London trip report

Message par Bird le Lun 02 Juin 2008, 21:16

Alright
Gros, it looks very nice for you. (hope) you’ll enjoy your trip. Was it good on
the boat? Have you drunk a lot of beers with duty free Razz ?

So let’s
correct your text, firstly most of your mistakes is just you almost always
speak at present !

(On)At first
you must know, for people who (wasn't) weren’t present, that I (make) had a (white night) sleepless night before (going) to take (my) bus Sunday morning!! ^^

I jump (jumped) my adventure to take the bus very (very very) (shortly) fastly...
(finaly) finally the bus (don't)doesn’t take the Eurostar like I (was thinking)
thought, but the boat..
I arrive (arrived) to London (on) at Victoria
station :

http://maps.google.fr/maps?f=q&hl=fr&geocode=&q=victoria+london&ie=UTF8&ll=51.498217,-0.144196&spn=0.024472,0.058022&z=14&iwloc=addr

my hostel(s) is here :

http://maps.google.fr/maps?f=d&hl=fr&geocode=&saddr=&daddr=51.511307,-0.184193&mra=mi&mrsp=0&sz=14&sll=51.512161,-0.17458&sspn=0.024465,0.058022&ie=UTF8&z=14

So I decide (decided) to cross "hide parck park" for fun, and that (were) was a greatfull greatful stroll (balade cf systrans)
I arrive (arrived) to my hostel (and) : I'm in (a) room(s) with 1 men and 4 girls(birds
= meuf Razz )...
I let you imagine the incredibel incredible night of sex... (in my dream(s) of course...)

So I'm wake up I woke up at 7 (o’clock) and (go) went to my work (on) in waterloo :

http://maps.google.fr/maps?f=q&hl=fr&geocode=&q=waterloo+london&sll=44.016521,-80.892334&sspn=3.618481,7.426758&ie=UTF8&ll=51.50308,-0.107117&spn=0.048939,0.116043&z=13&iwloc=addr

I (take) took the underground ((who) which was very underground...) (for bip-bip) to beep-beep : (don't came) don’t try
this
? it's impossible to defraud (frauder) there is lot of security agents...
but the advise (are) is very well ^^

I’m arrive I arrived at destination at (9h10) 9:10 (I have meet) the appointment was
at 9:30 but I prefer (prefered) to be (prudent) careful the first day ^^ :
I wait I'm waiting...

9:30...
I('m) waiting...
9:45...
I('m) waiting...
10:00...
I('m) waiting...
10:30...
I (saw) watched the clock and hurt myself to have (forget) forgotten the jet lag (decalage horair) :az&é:

so my (trainee master) Boss of training course explain (explained to) me my mission and then
I (go) went to see a meeting on "safe and health at work" so bo(r)ring...

after that (I’m going) I went to lunch with another trainee who (was ever came) has already come in the compani (company)... (it's) He’s French and he explain (explained to) me lot of thing(s) very useful(l)... (like the fact that French (boy) guys are
very apreciate appreciated by (the) London (girls) birds sdfsdf )

the bad tast(e) of the British isn't false : just(e) imagin(e) : at the lunch, they never take have a true meal,
just a sandwi(s)ch (who) which they eat in front of (her) their computer...

I (don't) can’t explain now my job but it's like real(l)y exciting!!!

Now I stay I'm staying at the (desck work) office (for) to use the Internet to find a flatmate and post this trip report...
I’m going to sleep (during) 6 night(s) (in) at my hostel (with the Italian
girls ^^ ).

There is lot of thing(s) to say but that's all (for) now ^^

See you later Very Happy

PS : Maybe I made some mistake because I'm very sick (I have a massive fever sdfsd ), sorry !

Re: London trip report

Message par Élie le Mar 03 Juin 2008, 01:24

You're welcome ! I haven't already read all your message Gros, but as Bird didn't correct the begining that I read, I'm going to correct the mistakes you made.

hey firstly like you can see, i try (I'm trying) to make (to write) this topic totaly (only) in
english... that's (it's?) not easy for me but i think that's (it) could be funny to
see the improve (progression) (or not) of my write (writing)...
So for help (to help) me i ask to (I'm asking) manon, bird, elie and anybody (everybody) who want (would like) to corect (correct :p) me like that :

Even if my english is now really better that before, I still make mistakes, but for the text I corrected, it should be alright. Some mistakes you made aren't considered as really big mistakes, but I think you'd rather say, for exemple : "I'm trying to write this topic..." than "I try to make this topic..."
Even if we've been stuying english for 7 years and more at school, most people are unable to use correctly the present ! But they think they're able to use it ! It's just because in French we're always using the present simple. But in english, if you use it, it will mean that it's general. For exemple : "What do you do ?" and "What are you doing ?"

In french there is no difference, but in english it's important, because the first one means : "What do you do, in your life ? Not now" and the second one : "What are you doing, right now ?"

It seems to be a bit stupid that I remind that, but it's very important to understand that, because without mastering this, I don't see the interest to learn other more difficults tenses like past simple or present perfect.

EDIT : I've just finished to read your text Gros, congratulation for the journay and the text, even if you seem to be unable to write in the past ! (It's a problem when we want to tell a story ...) Maybe you could do some grammar exercises, even if it's a bit borring sometimes, but you have to have a base I think ... But writing in here is already a good exercise, and that what I wanted to do when I created this english forum, but it's never had a lot of success actually ... In here, it's really important to be able to make a sentence using the past simple. It's not really complicated, you just have to know irregular verbs ...

If I can correct Bird just in some sentences :

(finaly) finally the bus (don't)doesn’t (didn't ?) take the Eurostar like I (was thinking)
thought (had thought), but the boat..

and (go) went to my work (on) in (at ? :p) waterloo

But I don't know what is "Waterloo" exactly, and like prepositions is the most difficult thing for me after pronounciation, I don't know ...

In any case, I'm really looking forward to going to London to visit you MG, even if you don't have any home at all !

PS : "White night" is really funny ^^ But it doesn't work actually ... :p

that's a very colorful topic isn't it ?

making mistake is just natural, i don't think it's neccessary to try to correct them to perfection so much. A langage is something that will come simply and naturally, not like in english classroom.
I have an advice to give you, it is not to translate word for word into French in your head, because the expressions and way of speaking french-english are differents.

and i'm shure the english girls will think that your accent and mistake is charming and cute ^^

1st

It's "it" in fact, because "It is could" doesn't exist.

1st
doesn't <> didn't
I said doesn't because it's a general case : the bus never take the eurostar.

Both works in fact ...

2nd
thought <> had thought
I
think thought is better because he always thought that before, had
thought would mean he had thought that once before and that's all.

No, when you tell a story, and you want to tell something which is happened before what you're telling, you've got to use the "Past Perfect", it's like in french. But people are going to understand you, even if you use just Past Simple.

For the rest, I agree with you.

But I think I can correct you to Bird if you want ^^ Even if you didn't write as much as me.

For exemple :

So let’s
correct your text, firstly most of your mistakes is (are) just you almost always
speak at (the) present !

:p

No Manon, it's a war between Bird and me to know who has the best english level ! Mouahhahahhhahahha !

I'm not sure because the my translation for this sentence is :

we're always using we always use the present simple. But in english, if you use it,
it will mean that it's general. For exemple : "What do you do ?" and
"What are you doing ?"

In french there is no difference, but in
english it's important, because the first one means : "What do you do,
in your life ? Not now" and the second one : "What are you doing, right
now ?"

It seems to be a bit stupid that I remind that, but it's
very important to understand that, because without mastering this, I
don't see the interest to learn other more difficults tenses like past
simple or present perfect.

EDIT : I've just finished to read
your text Gros, congratulation for the journay journey and the text, even if
you seem to be unable to write in the past ! (It's a problem when we
want to tell a story ...) Maybe you could do some grammar exercises,
even if it's a bit borring boring sometimes, but you have to have a base I
think ... But writing in here is already a good exercise, and that what
I wanted to do when I created this english forum, but it's never had a
lot of success actually ... In here, it's really important to be able
to make a sentence using the past simple. It's not really complicated,
you just have to know irregular verbs ...

If I can correct Bird just in some sentences :

(finaly) finally the bus (don't)doesn’t (didn't ?) take the Eurostar like I (was thinking)
thought (had thought), but the boat..

and (go) went to my work (on) in (at ? :p) waterloo

But
I don't know what is "Waterloo" exactly, and like prepositions is the
most difficult thing for me after pronounciation, I don't know ...

In any case, I'm really looking forward to going go to London to visit you MG, even if you don't have any home at all !

PS : "White night" is really funny ^^ But it doesn't work actually ... :p

For Manon I think you're wrong we learn more with our mistakes so it's very important to understand when we make ones, we better improve the language like that.

we're always using we always use

No, I can use "we're always using", and maybe it's better than "we always use".

Except that, you weren't able to find really big mistakes in what I wrote ... It's just 3 or 4 spelling mistakes ...

Oh yes you were right I've just seen that :
We use the present continuous with temporal adverbs when the action is not intentional. And in your sentence we use the present simple but it's not good so we have to use "we are always using..." but it's another rule of the present continuous Razz
But you made some mistakes which are not just lack of attention for example journay it's just because your pronounciation is so bad than you can't write the good words, or "to going" is not small mistake you know...

"I'm looking forward to going ..." is not a mistake ^^ I know that it seems to be strange to write : "To going" or "To +ing" but it's because it's a phrasal verb. It's : "To be Looking forward to" not just "To be Looking forward". That's the reason.

It's like : "I'm used to doing something" ... Or "I get used to doing something" ...

PS : For my bad prononciation, it's just because I'm too lazy to articulate when I speak. And also because, like I don't have any perfect english accent at all (you've got to live in an english speaking country for a long time for that), and like I don't want that people understand since the moment they hear me to speak, that I'm french, I'd rather use a strange accent, from part of none ^^ But I can speak with a very clear French accent like you Bird if I want...Very Happy

Ok you're right again for this, phrasal verbs are so difficult for me but I'm studying to become better than you and it would come soon !! ezrezrt
You know I try to perfect my French accent to better pull some birds because they prefer my accent than yours moreover your accent is not an accent and with it you have no nationality, you know when you speak French people say "Where are you from?" so I'm not sure your accent is worth mine! Indeed you make more written mistakes thaN me...

It's easy for you not to do as mistakes as me, when you don't write as much as me ! And it's also easier when you're always having an english dictionnary with you to prevent the mistakes you'll make without it ! When I write, I just use my mind ! And I don't have to think for a long time to explain what I mean.

Except that, I don't know if Gros is going to read all of what we wrote ... But if he does, it will be good for him !

But your mind isn't empty of mistakes and if you don't try to correct your mistakes alone you won't evolve. So yes I often use my dictionary but it allows to learn more and I also use it when I speak French because we never know a whole language even if it's our native language. And I can easily explain orally without my dictionary.

So, that's right for Gros I hope you'll read all we right (and not only words about birds from Manon Razz) and try to understand your mistakes.
